MUMBAI: Following the launch of the Lagaan DVD, actor – producer Aamir Khan along with Excel Home Videos has planned a cricket match at a Mumbai mall.
The match scheduled to be played at the Infinity Mall on 14 July is between the Lagaan XI and 11 lucky consumers of the DVD or VCD purchased from any Landmark store in India. The event is scheduled to begin at 2 pm.
Says Khan, “Lagaan DVD has been a landmark in Indian home entertainment and in itself the celebration of the spirit of Lagaan. We wanted to share the celebration with the fans of the movie and hence have planned this cricket match.”
The event organised by Excel Home Videos in association with Landmark stores will also witness other actors associated with Lagaan. The limited over match will be played at the Mall, barricaded by nets, with area for the general public to enjoy the game.
Khan will also be dining with 10 consumers of the Lagaan Collectors Edition wooden DVD box set. A special blog has also been launched where Khan answers queries from fans.
