Aarohi Film Club launched

MUMBAI: Aarohi Film Society launched the Aarohi Film Club on Friday in association with Marimba Lounge, Palador World Cinema, Barry John Acting Academy, Pixion Post Production Services, Red Pixels, F X Factory, Montagge Film School and Vishal Saxena Photography. The Film Club had its first screenings at Marimba.

Aarohi film society was started to give a proper platform to the upcoming talent. Aarohi Film Society has held three film festivals till now which were held annually.

Pistuliya and Candy man, the best director and best film award winning shorts at Aarohi’s annual short film fest 2008-2009 were screened at the event.

Producer Ravi Rai who was the chief guest for the event said, “Aarohi is a great platform with futuristic vision.”

FX Factory CEO Ramesh Meer stressed on how film making was a technical art and gave a workshop on the technical sensibilities of film making.

Jeetu Chawla, from RED Pixels gave a workshop on the features and easy accessibility of RED cameras. He stressed on how a film should be appealing on a visual level along with its content. “RED cameras allow a film maker to experiment and improvise on his shots without worrying about the film stock and thus giving the much needed breathing space and freedom to the director.”

Barry John Acting Studious director Sanjay Sujitabh said that they will be conducting free workshops on acting from an actor as well as director’s point of view for club members.

Pixion CEO Sanjay Yashroy and marketing head Yogesh Chhag announced the post production services free of cost to the Aarohi’s monthly production of the short film as well as the facility of premiering the monthly produced short film’s premier in Pixion’s preview theatre in Bandra.

Montagge Film School CEO Atanu Biswas pledged free courses to selected student members of the club other than regular discounts to members.

Other than the many BMM students, film enthusiasts and industry stalwarts, the event was also attended by writer, director Manish Gupta, director Rakesh Chaturvedi , actor Rishi Bhutain,  upcoming producer Samit Kakkad and actor Sushant Singh.
