MUMBAI: Reliance Anil Ambani Group’s Adlabs Films Ltd will be releasing its first Tamil film Kireedam. This project is a co-production with Sujatha Cine Arts.
The release date of the film hasn’t been announced as yet.
Kireedam stars Ajith Kumar and Trisha along with Raj Kiran and Vivek. Vijay Anand has directed the movie, which features music by GV Prakash (nephew of AR Rehman). Prakash recent successes include Veyyil. This is the first film to be released in the Tamil market since Rajnikant’s blockbuster Sivaji: The Boss.
Adlabs Films chairman and managing director Manmohan Shetty said, “We have been eagerly awaiting the release of our first Tamil film as the market has shown immense potential with recent releases breaking records both domestically and internationally.”
Sujatha Cine Arts head Suresh Balaje added, “It’s a new beginning for Sujatha Cine Arts, as we are returning after 17 years. It’s great to come back with a good film featuring excellent performances. It’s been wonderful working with Adlabs who have been very understanding and cooperative in the entire process. We hope to continue this association in the time to come.”
