Ajay Devgan’s directorial debut to roll soon

MUMBAI: Actor Ajay Devgan will soon make his directorial debut with Hum Tum Aur Woh, which will feature him along with his wife Kajol in the lead roles. Isha Sharvani has also been cast in the movie.

The film will be produced and directed by Devgan and plans are afoot to mount the film on a lavish scale, say sources. It will be shot in a month-long schedule on a cruise, which will begin from Goa and end in Lakshwadweep. The film will roll after Devgan’s current acting commitments, sources add.

Devgan presently has films like Cash, Mr Fraud, Ram Gopal Verma Ke Sholay, Benaam, Halla Bol and Saamna on hand, which are under various stages of production.

The shooting of director Abbas-Mastan’s Fraud, co-starring Bipasha Basu and Tanushree Dutta, director Anees Bazmee’s Benaam with Bhumika Chawla, director Rajkumar Santoshi’s Halla Bol with Kareena Kapoor and Vidya Balan has been completed while Anubhav Sinha’s Cash and Ram Gopal Varma Ke Sholay are nearing completion. Saamna, to be directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and co-starring Nana Patekar, Mahima Chaudhary, Riteish Deshmukh is in its pre-production stages.

Devgan had earlier produced Raju Chacha in 2000 and a three-minute short film The Awakening, based on Mumbai’s 2005 deluge, was released in July last year.
