Akshay promotes film with radio contest

MUMBAI: As Sajid Khan’s directorial debut Heyy Babyy is on the verge of being delivered this week, its promotional activities seem to have caught pace. The makers, Nadiadwala Grandsons Entertainment have exclusively tied up with radio station, Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM, for airing a contest called Heyy Babyy, catch me if you can.

The contest commencing on 17 August across Mumbai, Pune, Delhi and Ahmedabad gives listeners a chance to meet Akshay Kumar, also the lead actor of the film. Radio Mirchi listeners can participate in the contest by sending their choice of one-liner on ‘How innovatively can you propose to ‘Akshay Kumar?’

Mumbaikars could participate through SMS by simply typing “Radio” as the key word, while those in other cities need to use “Vote” as key word and send it to ‘8888’.

Selected winners across cities will be flown down to Mumbai for the final round on 22 August. Each of the 16 winners will get 98.3 seconds to impress Akshay to be the final winner. The lucky winner gets an opportunity to get close and personal with him over a cup of coffee in a private lounge.

Sharing his thoughts on this initiative Radio Mirchi regional marketing head-west Rahul Balyan said, “Radio Mirchi has always believed in providing its loyal listeners exclusive content while continuously striving to connect with them. The idea behind the contest is to take Bollywood closer to the Listeners across India and in a way that only Mirchi can. Akshay is the heart-throb of millions of Girls and we thought of this fun contest as a way to give them a slice of Bollywood.”

There are more prizes in store for other lucky winners – premier passes of the movie, free audio CDs etc.
