MUMBAI: Director Rajkumar Santoshi’s forthcoming film starring Amitabh Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt & Ajay Devgn went on floors on 4 October, 2010.
The team of Power started the shoot at Madh island and have just completed shooting there. They will now move on to Chandivali studio where a set of a railway waiting room has been put up. The first schedule of the film will end by 23 October and the second schedule will take place in November in Mumbai again.
According to sources, Power is going to be a really big budget film and Santoshi is being paid almost Rs. 15 crores to direct the film. Santoshi has managed to rope in the biggest actors of Bollywood for the film. Speaking to Businesofcinema.com, Santoshi says “ I feel very humbled to be working with all the stars. Having all these actors together in my film is a proof of the kind of respect I have in the industry and it feels great to be working with some of the biggest stars of our industry even though the responsibility is great.”
Besides all the big actors of Bollywood, Santoshi has also roped in action directors and stunt coordinators from Hollywood, who have been a part of films like Spiderman, Swordfish, and the James Bond series.
Power is a film about the power of honesty. It’s probably the first time that all these powerful actors have been cast together in a film. According to Santoshi, all the characters have an important role to play in the film. While Bachchan plays a pilot, Kapoor plays a businessman, Devgn plays a soldier and Dutt plays a police officer.
Besides the four actors, the film also stars Ameesha Patel, Anuradha Patel, Kangana Ranaut and Lekha Washington and is produced by Firoz A Nadiadwala, under the banner Nadiadwala Entertainment and Technologies.
