MUMBAI: Kolkata based Moxie Entertainments has announced that its next Hindi production titled BBD, a political thriller, will be directed by Anjan Dutt.
Dutt has earlier directed Badadin, Bow Barracks Forever and The Bong Connection. BBD stars Naseeruddin Shah, Jimmy Sheirgill, Kay Kay Menon, Sandhya Mridul, Rituparna Sengupta, Sonali Kulkarni and new find Shauvik.
The film revolves around three young men – Binoy; a young model-actor from Mumbai, Badal; an honest Kolkata cop and Dennis; an former rock musician junkie who has migrated to the US, all of whom are thrown together in unusual circumstances.
BBD will be shot on location in Kolkata. The camera will follow the characters extensively through the city, its streets, buildings and nightlife. Kolkata in all its grandeur, is essentially a character of the film rather than just it’s setting, says a company release. The climax of the film takes place in BBD Bagh, which is historically significant to the film.
