MUMBAI: Debutant director Anthony D’Souza is breathing a sigh of relief. He has finally finished shooting for his magnum opus Blue.
Speaking to Businessofcinema.com, he says, “We had booked three shooting floors in Film City, studio number one, fourteen and sixteen, so that we could wrap up shooting. It was Akki’s last shooting day with us and since he was committed to start Vipul Shah’s film, I had to maximize my resources to can my shots all in one day.”
What was supposed to be a big budget film that had the biggest stars like Akshay Kumar and Sanjay Dutt, turned out to be a nightmare for the director as he tried to bring the two warring heroes to complete shooting for the film.
News of the trouble followed by the intense security required for singer Kylie Minogue’s shoot in Mumbai has got this debutant director’s film more in the news for its negative publicity. Apart from Akshay Kumar and Sanjay Dutt, the movie also stars Zayed Khan, Katrina Kaif, Lara Dutta and Kabir Bedi. It is produced by Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision and is tentatively slated for release in August.
Prior to this, D’Souza has directed Ripley’s Believe It Or Not series.
