MUMBAI: More and more film stars are now diversifying into various business ventures. The latest one is actor Arjun Rampal, who has joined hands with restaurateur AD Singh to launch a restaurant chain called Lap.
The members’ only property was unveiled on 28 – 29 August at the Hotel Samrat in New Delhi. The restaurant property includes an exclusive members club; guests will be invited to become members by a screening committee comprising eminent names. In addition, guests seeking membership can be proposed by an existing member of Lap.
Lap, designed by architect Sandip Khosla has been in production for the last one year. The property places a premium on exclusivity and on the privacy of its elite membership.
Rampal said, "Lap is a concept that is close to my heart. I have always felt the need for a space in India, which not only offers the best of international music, cuisine and ambience, but is also very private and discreet and where people can truly let their hair down."
He added, "I am delighted to have AD Singh onboard as a partner, a veteran in the hospitality business, whose expertise will be extremely valuable for the brand. Not only is AD an expert restaurateur but he also understands the business of entertainment and the nuances and pre- requisites to set up a concept which is truly global in its execution."
Singh said, "Lap will be, beyond doubt, a unique concept which will offer a superlative dining and sensory experience. I am very pleased to be associated with Arjun on his first entrepreneurial venture, which I believe will set precedents and create benchmarks in our industry."
