MUMBAI: Prakash Jha has asked for the impossible from Arjun Rampal. For his latest film, Rajniti, where Rampal plays a politician, Jha has asked the actor to go bald. Rampal has gone under the barber’s scissors.
The actor confessed, "I know it’s heartbreaking, but the fact is that I will have to shave off my hair for this film. I have been growing my hair for some years now and I have got attached to it, but as the role demands it, I have no choice."
The stars have been favoring Rampal. Post the success of Om Shanti Om, the actor struck gold with Rock On. His stint on television as a judge of a reality dance show, kept him in the limelight, as he was waiting for his projects to start. Rampal revealed, "Prakash Jha came to me with the story of Rajniti, four years ago. I immediately agreed to do it. But then he went underground. One day, Prakash suddenly called me up from the blue and asked me for my dates. Apparently, Prakash was preparing for this film as he wanted to get all the nuances of a politician and the machinations right. He was closely involved with the Bihar elections which saw Nitish Kumar beating Laloo Prasad Yadav."
Rampla will leave for Bhopal on 4 February for the shooting of the film. He said, "It’s a month long schedule hence I had to chop off my hair before I left."
