ASA Production to invest Rs 400+ million in six movies

Mumbai: Surender Sharma and Vikram Bhatt’s ASA Production will invest over Rs 400 million (Rs 40 crores) towards making six movies. The filming of two movies will commence from November onwards and all these films are slated to release in next financial year.

Vikram Bhatt will also direct one movie which is titled Shapit. The movie will launch Aditya Narayan. It will go on floors in February and will be shot in Rajasthan and UK.

"All the films will be medium sized and we are investing Rs 40 crore plus in these films. The films will start releasing in the next financial year," said Bhatt.

All the six movies are based on either horror or thriller concepts. "So many people make comedy and romantic films all their lives. So someone has to make thriller and horror films," explained Bhatt.

The first movie is Purple Lake, a thriller and will be directed by Vishal Pandya who has assisted Vikram Bhatt on various films. It will star actor Aashish Chowdhry in the lead along with model Mahsa and comedian Vir Das. It will be shot in Fort William, Scotland.

The second movie is titled Phir, to be directed by Girish Dhamija. Phir will star Rajneesh Duggal and Adah Sharma along with actress Roshni Chopra. It will be shot in New Castle, UK. Both, Purple Lake and Phir, will go on floors next month.

Bhatt is also working on a creature based movie, on the lines of Jurassic Park, Anaconda etc. "I am currently working on the design of the creature. This will be a visual effects driven film and I want to release it by 2010", told Bhatt.

Apart from these four films, ASA is also working on a movie based on extra marital relation and another for which scripting is underway.
