Balaji Motion Pictures & T-Series seal seven film deal

MUMBAI: With big deals happening all across the Indian film industry, every production house is vying for a better batch. After signing a co-production deal with Suniel Shetty’s Popcorn Motion Pictures and Sanjay Gupta’s White Feather Films, Balaji Motion Pictures has now inked a seven film deal with music giant T-Series.

Incidentally, T-Series too recently inked a five film deal with Percept Picture Company wherein the films will be made over a period of two years.

Confirming the development to Businessofcinema.com, Balaji Motion Pictures CEO Ramesh Sippy says, “Yes, we have signed a seven film deal with T-Series. Since we are looking at seven films, the overall budget will be over Rs 1 billion (Rs 100 crores). However, it’s too premature to talk about the monetary aspect of this deal right now.”

So, will the already announced Balaji movies fall under this deal? “No, they are not a part of this deal,” he informs.

The company has signed two directors – Neeraj Vora and Priyadarshan and willl be signing more directors soon. The films are slated to hit the floors next year. Balaji Motion Pictures also recently signed directors like Abbas Mustaan, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Rohit Shetty and Apoorva Lakhia for their other projects.
