Balaji, Popcorn’s next to roll in September

MUMBAI: Balaji Telefilms and Suniel Shetty’s Popcorn entertainment’s next production venture will go on the floors on 15 September 2007.

Tentatively titled C Kkompany, the film stars Tushar Kapoor, Suniel Shetty, Anupam Kher and Rajpal Yadav. The film, a comedy, will be directed by debutant Sachin Yardi and is being co produced by Suniel Shetty’s Popkorn Entertainment.

While other production details are still being worked out, Balaji Motion Pictures CEO Ramesh Sippy informs, "We are planning to shoot the film in and around Mumbai and may shoot a few songs in foreign locales."

South Indian actor Shriya Saran, is being considered for the female lead of the film.

Talking about his debut film, Sachin Yardi says, "The film is a clean comedy and family oriented drama." The story, screenplay and dialogues too are being worked upon by him. Yardi has previously worked as a writer on Bhandarkar’s Traffic Signal and Balaji’s Kya Kool Hai Hum.

Yardi will also continue to write for Kya Kool 2, which is slated to go on the floors by the year end or early next year. "Tushar Kapoor and Ritesh Deshmukh will continue be the male leads of the film and currently, the casting is on for the female leads," Sippy adds. Sangeeth Sivan (director, KKHH) will direct the sequel as well.
