"Day before yesterday (Tuesday), my little granddaughter was given polio drops in my presence," said the veteran actor, on being felicitated for his contribution towards the campaign.

Further, the megastar requested every parent to also do so, "We must ensure that there must be no cause of polio for at least three consecutive years. We have just crossed one year and there is still a long way to go. As a parent, I can only ask you, request you and get angry on you to continue this very noble cause."

The government has successfully been eradicating polio through this campaign for close to 15 months now.
