Beyond Dreams Entertainment readies horror film Kaalo

MUMBAI: After the recent release of films like Ram Gopal Varma’s Phoonk and Vikram Bhatt’s period horror flick 1920, Beyond Dreams Entertainment is now readying its creature horror film called Kaalo, which is based on a witch.

The live-action cum animation movie has been written and directed by Wilson Louis and is currently in post-production stages. Plans are to release the movie within the next three months.

Speaking to Businessofcinema.com, Beyond Dreams Entertainment CEO Yash Patnaik said, "The movie has been made on a budget of $1.5 million and is India’s first creature horror film based on a witch names Kaalo. The witch’s character will be animated whereas the actors in the film include Aditya Shrivsatava, Paintal, Aditya Lakhia and Sweenie Khara. We are also introducing two new boys and girls each in the movie."

The character of Kaalo is loosely based on a North Indian folktale revolving around a witch by the same name. An interesting aspect of the movie will be that the movie does not have even one single night scene which are almost synonymous with spooky horror flicks. The entire proceedings of the movie’s storyline happen in broad daylight!
