MUMBAI: The release of Picture Thoughts Productions’ Bhindi Baazaar Inc has been postponed to 10 June, 2011. The movie was earlier scheduled to release on 20 May, 2011.
Producer Karan Arora said, "Bhindi Baazaar Inc, while being a niche screenplay also has the street spicy flavour for a wider audience. This not being a flamboyant star studded film, needs innovative marketing & efficient publicity push. With reference to the efforts gone in the film, I would want the film to get its deserved audience. The primary reason to push the release date of the film is the IPL as it gets all the media slots and the limelight and then the second reason being the rush of films releasing in April-May clearing the World Cup backlog. On 20 May, we have more than six movies releasing and with all those films, Bhindi Baazaar wouldn’t have got its deserved space. With this we will also get the time to complete the promotional song with Caterina Lopez, which is a remix of Akkad Bakkad."
The film revolves around gangs of Mumbai, who have embraced pickpocketing as an art and a means of earning the livelihood. The film is directed by Ankush Bhatta and it stars Kay Kay Menon, Deepti Naval, Prashant Narayan, Shilpa Shukla, Vedita Pratap Singh, Piyush Mishra, and introducing Shweta Verma, Caterina Lopez and Gautam.
