Bhojpuri film Ganga’s sequel nears completion

MUMBAI: The shooting to the sequel of producer Deepak Sawant’s Bhojpuri film Ganga will be completed in June. The film is being written and directed by Abhishek Chaddha, who directed the original.


Sawant says, “Earlier I was planning to title the sequel of Ganga as Bajrangi. But now we have titled our sequel as Gangotri Ganga – 2. We have shot for the film for more than 25 – days at Surve Farm, Panvel and are currently shooting in Film City. By 5 June we will wrap up the entire shooting of the film.”


As per the cast, he says, “Amitabh Bachchan and Manoj Tiwari ‘Mridul’, who starred in the original feature in the sequel. Bhumika Chawla is playing the title role. Kunal Singh, Shivam Tiwari, Shravani are there in the cast too. Hema Malini and Ravi Kissen have promised to do cameo appearances too. The film moves forward with this character – Thakur played by Amitabh Bachchan, from Ganga after his release from the prison.”


Sawant has been Amitabh Bachchan’s personal make-up man for the last 30 years. This will be Amitabh’s second Bhojpuri film.
