MUMBAI: BIG CBS Networks has acquired films from the Sony Pictures Television (SPT) movie library, which includes titles such as Zathura, XXX: State of the Union, Mona Lisa Smile, 13 Going on 30, Vertical Limit. These movies will be aired exclusively on the soon-to-be launched entertainment channels.
This deal with Sony Pictures Television will see BIG CBS Prime, the first of the three international channels to be launched later this November, showcase SPT’s movies on Saturday and Sunday evenings during the prime time band.
BIG CBS Networks business head Aparnaa Pande said, "BIG CBS is ready to spoil audiences with the best entertainment on English television in India. While we have the superlative entertainment mix from the CBS Studios International stable for the weekdays, our understanding of consumer insights and preference mapping clearly indicate the need for hit films, with high consumption over the weekends. The films have been carefully selected and will draw audiences to the channel. We are confident that this deal will only elevate the international standards set by BIG CBS channels and provide round the clock entertainment to the viewers through the 7 days of the week."
