MUMBAI: BIG Music content and A&R (artiste and repertoire) head Rajeeta Hemwani, who put in her papers at the company in March this year, will be joining Universal Music India as vice president content and A&R.
Speaking to Businessofcinema.com, Hemwani said that her first day at Universal Music will be 9 May. Post quitting BIG Music Hemwani had announced her intent to start her own company Monks of Music but the plan has been put on the backburner for now.
She will be reporting to Universal Music managing director Rajjat Kakkar.
"I will be working closely with Rajjat and Shivaji Gupta. Universal is bullish on promoting new talent be it singers or bands and I will be looking at expanding that aspect of the business," she says.
