MUMBAI: Big Pictures’ thriller 13B, which was released last week in Hindi and Tamil, has in all grossed Rs 90 million (Rs 9 crores) at the box office in its opening weekend.

While the Hindi version grossed Rs 68 million (Rs 6.80 crores), the Tamil version grossed Rs 22 million (Rs 2.2 crores). The movie stars R Madhavan and Neetu Chandra in lead roles and has been made on a production budget of Rs 65 million (Rs 6.50 crores).

Speaking to Businessofcinema.com, BIG Pictures distribution head Kamal Gianchandani says, "Going by the opening weekend collection of the movies, we are targetting it gross somewhere in the range of Rs 150 – 160 million (Rs 15 – 16 crores) at the box office. Moreover, the fact that Tuesday (Eid) and Wednesday (Holi) are holidays should work in favour of the film."

Gianchandani says that movie has performed better in terrotries like Nizam, Mysore, Rajasthan and Bombay. "The movie has done better at multiplexes than in single screens," he adds.
