BIG TV makes recharge vouchers easily accessible

Mumbai: BIG TV has put into place a network of close to 75,000 outlets to retail Recharge Vouchers (RCVs) for DTH services in India. The network spreads over 10,000 towns including outlets like local grocery stores, gift stores, and utility stores. BIG TV has taken the route adopted by the telecom players to retail RCVs for pre-paid mobile connections. Retail outlets of almost every genre are being roped in to ensure maximum penetration and easy accessibility for customers. Karnataka has a network of over 6120 retail outlets for RCVs.

The existing network of 100,000 retailers, 250 Reliance Web Worlds, 219 Reliance Mobile Stores, and 40,000-odd telecom outlets which are sales points for the BIG TV DTH service will also stock the RCVs. Apart from this, the options of recharging online or through the mobile phone are also being explored.

"The biggest hurdle in the growth of DTH services in India was the accessibility. We changed the paradigm when we launched across 6,500 towns with 100,000 retail outlets which ensured easy access for customers and we clocked record-breaking sales. Our endeavour is to get as close as possible to our customer’s doorstep with the RCVs," said Reliance Communications president, application services group Mahesh Prasad.

BIG TV is also exploring the options of recharging via the internet and mobile phones making it easier for the customer.
