MUMBAI: Bollywood actresses have smartened in this techno age and leave no opportunity to bank on their star status. After Sameera Reddy, it’s now Bipashu Basu who has ‘jumped’ into the mobile gaming industry.
The games publishing company, Jump Games has inked a two-year exclusive worldwide contract with Basu to create and distribute a series of mobile game titles based on her.
The first game based on the actress is titled Bipasha Basu Jet Ski Champ and will soon be launched on all leading networks. In this game she will be seen as a master Jet Ski rider, challenging the world’s best to an adrenalin-pumping jet-ski ride across exotic circuits.
Apart from this game, there are two other titles in the pipeline, which will feature Basu in completely different avatars. One will be a casual title based on the popular urban sport of bowling. The second title will have Basu playing a sci-fi princess all set to save the planet from galactic enemies.
Commenting on the occasion, Basu said, “This is something really novel for me and I’m looking forward to a fruitful gaming association with Jump Games. They have already created some extremely popular quality titles in the past and have done a great job with the games. Through these games my fans will get to see the athletic, adventurous and skillful side of me. I am a sports fan and today it’s a conscious effort to choose my films and related work accordingly, to bring out my sporty, exploratory persona. Let’s hope my fans like it!”
Jump Games CEO Salil Bhargava added, “Bipasha is one of the most successful celebrity brands today and her personality lends itself wonderfully to games. We’re quite confident that with the rising popularity of celebrity games in the market, the titles created for Bipasha will do well.”
