MUMBAI: UTV Motion Pictures Plc has named Babulal Vedprakash Gautam (BL Gautam) as its new chief operating officer.
Gautam will be the COO of both UTV Motion Pictures Plc and its subsidiary UTV Mauritius Limited, with effect from 1 October 2007. In April last year, Gautam had joined UTV Software Communications as head of film distribution business in India.
As a result of this appointment, UTV Software Communications senior vice president marketing and distribution Siddharth Roy Kapur, who was made the CEO of the AIM listed entity, will now be a non – executive director of UTV Motion Pictures Plc.
Prior to joining UTV, Gautam was with Zee Telefilms Ltd as commercial director and prior to that was at B4U Network as COO.
Gautam has a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Education from Krukhshetra University, India.
