Bollywood actor Rajendra Nath passes away

MUMBAI: Yesteryears’ Bollywood actor Rajendra Nath (76) passed away on Wednesday (13 February, 2008) evening following a cardiac arrest.

The actor, who had been suffering from breathing problems, will be cremated Thursday.


Nath, best known for his comic roles, is the brother of Krishna Raj Kapoor. His brother Premnath was also an established actor in the film industry.


Nath began his Bollywood in 1938 with the movie Vachan.


He has acted in over 200 Hindi movies including An Evening in Paris, Jhuk Gaya Aasman, Ek Shriman Ek Shrimati, Aya Sawan Jhoom Ke, Mera Naam Joker, Aan Milo Sajna, Mere Jeevan Saathi, Jwar Bhata, Rafoo Chakkar, Jab Pyar Kisi Se Hota Hai, Phir Wohi Dil Laya Hoon, Teesri Manzil, Baharon Ke Sapne, Purab Aur Paschim, Pyar Ka Mausam, Julie, Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se, The Burning Train, Prem Rog and Ajooba amongst others.
