Bollywood filmmaker goes missing

MUMBAI: Surendra Mohan, the director of hit films like Aap Ke Deewane (1980), Dhanwan (1981) and Haathkadi (1982) has been missing from his Oshiwara home in Mumbai since a month now. The family has registired a police complaint at the Oshwira police station.

Mohan is the same man who had the chance to direct Hrithik Roshan and Rakesh Roshan together in Aap Ke Deewane. Shatrugan Sinha’s outstanding performance in Haathkadi was also directed by him. In the late 80’s, he started producing films but didn’t fare too well.

Mohan was a member of IMPPA for the last four decades. He was also seen at the recently concluded IMPPA election 2006. IMPPA senior vice president Sushma Shiromani says, “I had last met Mohan many days back when he came to meet my cashier. He had directed a few television serials a while ago but was looking for something worthwhile now.”
