Mumbai: B R Films has locked in a thriller with a subject based on women trafficking as its latest film to go on floors.
The film is titled Betiyaan and its story has been developed by writer Kamlesh Pandey. The movie will be directed documentary filmmaker Sanjeevan.
Betiyaan is scheduled to go on floors by year-end. Sharing details on the project B R Films’ Ravi Chopra says, "Sanjeevan has earlier made documentaries on the subject of women trafficking. However, the subject of our film Betiyaan has no resemblance to any real life incident. Its story has been developed by Kamlesh Pandey with inputs from Sanjeevan."
The story of the film deals with woman trafficking and how a man realizes that the woman with him in the brothel is his own daughter.
Currently, casting for the film is underway and Chopra is on the lookout for a new face to essay the role of the female protagonist.
