Bulldog & 20th Century Fox to bring Beauty & the Geek to India

MUMBAI: Bulldog Media & Entertainment and Twentieth Century Fox have entered into a co-production with SOL for the Indian version of the reality show Beauty and the Geek.

Bulldog Media & Entertainment vice chairman and managing director Akash Sharma said, "We are here to make the popular adage come true that ‘opposites attract’! Since our inception, Bulldog has kept in mind the evolving taste of Indian audiences and with this show we promise to bring another revolution to reality television. We are proud to be associated with Twentieth Century Fox and we are confident that this show too will open a new era of entertaining programming."

Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution vice president sales – Asia Brendan Zauner added,  "In another milestone for the company we are excited to have the opportunity to see the Indian version of Beauty and the Geek make its debut. It is a show that has a great amount of warmth and heart, and we are confident that Bulldog Media and Entertainment will deliver a ground breaking and enjoyable experience for viewers in India."

The show will be created keeping in mind the sensitivities of the Indian audiences. The original premise of Beauty and the Geek consists of a group Beauties and a group of Geeks who are paired up to compete as couples for a shared prize.

Beauty and the Geek franchise has 17 local versions to date. Other licensed territories include Belgium, Bulgaria, Colombia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Italy, Mexico, The Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Russia, Turkey, and the UK. With its launch into the Indian market, the series will be making its debut in the Asia region.
