Bumper opening for Tips’ Punjabi movie

MUMBAI: Tips Rs 50 million (Rs 5 crore) Punjabi venture Dil Apna Punjabi has received record opening in Punjab and the overseas market.


The film released on 1 September in Punjab with 19 prints, which is the highest ever in Punjabi cinema. It received 100 per cent opening on Friday in all 19 theatres that it released in, thus setting another record. The film stars Dara Singh, Harbhajan Mann, Neeru Bajwa and Mahek Chahel and has been shot in and around Punjab and London.


Dil Apna Punjabi was released simultaneously in the overseas market on 1 September with 24 prints. The overseas distribution of the film is handled by Adlabs, which also distributed Krrish in the overseas.


A source in Adlabs reveals that Dil Apna Punjabi has received a better response than Krrish in Canada.
 
Basking in the glory Kumar Taurani says, “I am overwhelmed with the response this film has received. I will release it in Mumbai too after a few days.”
