Cinemax and Youth For People salute the worthy

Mumbai: This year, to salute the spirit of Mumbai, Cinemax and Youth for People (YFP) honoured the volunteers who gave hope and a new chance to the victims of train blasts, 2006.  

Actor Anuj Saxsena stepped forth to acknowledge the noble deed initiated by the citizens of Mumbai. The event featured a small documentary on the strength and courage exhibited by the public during the 7/11 blasts thus reminding the people present that no catastrophe can dampen the spirit of Mumbai. Cinemax and YFP helped uplift the grievance mood set up by the anniversary of the blasts and managed to promote the concept of ‘Selfless acts’. Also 2 minutes of silence was observed with a special candle lighting ceremony in the multiplex foyer to pay tribute to the victims.

Cinemax India senior vice president Devang Sampat said, "The tragic episode that Mumbai saw was quite unfortunate but what was commendable was the city’s initiative to step up to help. To show that these noble gestures are recognized, Cinemax has organized this special event. We believe that the selfless people who rushed forward to help the needy are the real "Heroes" and this function is in their honour."
