Cinemax brings Punjabi cinema to Mumbai

MUMBAI: Multiplex chain Cinemax is promoting regional cinema as it is mainstream Hindi. Its property at Versova has opened doors for a Punjabi film Yaariyan and hosted a premiere for the upcoming release.


The film’s premiere was attended by Gurdas Maan and Bhumika Chawla, who star in it.


With the Punjabi movie industry generating various blockbusters and hits in the country, Cinemax took up the initiative to provide the much needed recognition to these films.


Cinemax vice president marketing and programming Devang Sampat said, “We hosted the premiere of Yaariyan because we believe that these films are amongst the very best we have in the industry today.”
