Creative Eye plans expansion; sets up studio

MUMBAI: Production house Creative Eye is on a major expansion spree. The listed company, which already has three studios functional in the city suburbs, recently acquired a one lakh square feet land in Dahisar.

The total project investment, including the construction and studio, amounts to Rs 500 million (Rs 50 crores). This studio is being built for their internal purposes as well as for leasing it out to other production houses.

Each floor will be around 8000 square feet long, which accounts to approximately 10 floors. Talking about this development to Businessofcinema.com, Creative Eye chairman and managing director Dheeraj Kumar said, “We will be occupying at least five floors of this new studio for our own television content and the animation products, which we are coming up with shortly. We will lease out the space to various production houses because the demand is such. All across the GECs (General Entertainment Channels) there are 1500 hours of programming so there needs to be a good number of studios that will help these production houses.”

Along with setting up production units, the company continues to execute content for television channels. By the end of this year’s first quarter the company claims it will produce 11 hours of programming a week.
