Custodial deaths detailed IN Bhatt’s Dhoka

MUMBAI: Pooja Bhatt plans to return to the Bhatt home family banner with Dhoka- Betrayal, shortly.

Dhoka, her third venture, is a film based on custodial deaths in Jammu and Kashmir. The film will be produced by her uncle Mukesh Bhatt and written by Mahesh Bhatt.

“Our nation has not confronted the truth of the menace of custodial deaths and misdeeds of the police force. It is not confined to any one state, as the phenomenon is occuring all over India. Dhoka is going to be an attempt to make people wake up to this reality,” says Mahesh Bhatt.

Dhoka will have Kashmiri model turned actor Muzammil Ibrahim (seen in Pardesia, a remix video with Rakhee Sawant) in the lead.

“Muzammil plays the lead role of a police officer who takes on the enemy within the establishment. The movie will be shot in Mumbai, and we are also planning to shoot some portions in the Kashmir valley for an authentic look,” adds Bhatt.
