MUMBAI: Deepak Dhar, who is currently the creative director of Endemol India, has been promoted as the company’s managing director, effective from January 2008.
The current managing director Rajesh Kamat has stepped down from his post. Kamat and Dhar joined Endemol in 2005 and built the new company.
Dhar previously worked for Star TV, as group head of programming from 2001 to 2005. Before joining Star TV, he was senior producer for MTV for three years.
For Endemol he has produced, among others, Bigg Brother, Operación Triunfo and Mission Ustaad.
Endemol COO Marco Bassetti said, “I’d like to thank Rajesh for the role he has played in Endemol’s development in India. We’re sorry to see him go after two years at the company and wish him all the very best for the future. We are also very confident that Deepak will lead Endemol India forwards to exploit the considerable opportunities in this growing market.”
