MUMBAI: Item number turned actor Deepal Shaw is now set to play the lead in an Anjum Rizvi Film company and Friday Filmworks’ joint venture, titled Wednesday.
Shaw has been previously seen in Mahesh Bhatt’s Kalyug and will now share screen space with veterans like Anupam Kher and Naseeruddin Shah, as well as Jimmy Shergill and Aamir Bashir. The film is written and directed by Neeraj Pandey and produced by Anjum Rizvi. Shital Bhatia is the co-producer of the film.
Says Rizvi, “Deepal Shaw will play a unique role in the film. Set on a particular Wednesday, this drama is placed almost in real time. The story takes place between 2 pm and 5 pm on a Wednesday in the enigmatic city of Mumbai. The film is slated to go on the floors in the first week of April 2007. The rest of the cast is still being finalised.”
Rizvi has previously produced films like Charas and Ahista Ahista.
