MUMBAI: Director Kalpana Lajmi has her plate full with three new projects.
Lajmi has a one-film deal with two individual producers – Sunny Creative Arts and Shishupal Singh’s Starlight Entertainment.
Apart from these, she will be directing a film for Sunderdas Sonakia and Gemini Studios that also produced Shatriya.
Speaking to Businessofcinema.com, Lajmi says, "All three films are at the scripting stage as of now. I will soon finalize the star cast for these projects. It’s a long procedure."
Her film with Sunny Creative Arts will be a family drama titled Mr and Mrs. Lonely; for Sunderdas Sonakia and Gemini Studios she is doing Love Main Koi Rule Nahin, a film based on contemporary college relationships; and for Starlight Entertainment she will be doing 6-teen, which will revolve around the issue of sexuality among teenagers with the advent of technology.
Lajmi adds, "These films will be co-written by me. For Mr. and Mrs. Lonely and Love Main Koi Rule Nahin, Amit Khan will be my co-writer, while 6-teen will be written by Anpama Choudary Singh, Ajay Singh and myself."
Post Chingari, which bombed at the box office, Lajmi was gearing up for Mujhe Rang De, a period film being produced by Mahinder Dariwal. However, that project has been shelved since they didn’t find any actress of repute after Isha Kopikar and Urmila Matondkar walked out.
