Mumbai: Dishtv India has added 175,307 new subscribers to its kitty in the month of September. This takes the company’s total registered customer base to 3.94 million. The subscriber acquisition comes despite Shradh and Ramzan periods running during the month, a time when purchasing new items is considered inauspicious.
For Q209 Dishtv added 5,29,077 subscribers compared to 277, 896 subscribers in Q208, resulting in a growth of 90%. The adoption of the DTH market category has now reached around 4,50,000 subscribers on a monthly basis, and the month of October is expected to cross the half million mark.
Dishtv has added seven new channels on its platform in Q209 which include general entertainment, regional and news segment.
