DQ Entertainment inks licensing deal with Walt Disney

MUMBAI: DQ Entertainment (DQE) has inked a licensing deal with Walt Disney Television International (Southeast Asia) for a CGI-animated series Twisted Whiskers.

The series will be broadcast on the Disney Channel, in 12 markets across Southeast Asia, in the coming months.

The Southeast Asian markets covered in this deal include Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Brunei, Indonesia, Palau, Thailand, Vietnam Cambodia, South Korea, Hong Kong and Papua New Guinea.

As was reported earlier by Businessofcinema.com in December last year, DQE has already signed a licensing deal with Walt Disney International India for Twisted Whiskers as well as two other animated series, Ratman and Sandra.

DQE chairman and CEO Tapaas Chakravarti said, "This deal demonstrates the strength of DQE’s sustained relationship with Walt Disney Television International. We are delighted to be working once again with Walt Disney International, a strategic partnership that allows our productions to reach a global audience."
