Eagle Films inks co-prod. deal with European companies

MUMBAI: Eagle Films has entered into a tripartite agreement with production companies Advise Film & TV Production based in Berlin, Germany and Wega based in Austria to co-produce a feature film.

This agreement is the culmination of an interface between Eagle Films managing directors Umesh Mehra and Advise managing director Nils Vise at a location marketing event organized by Guild at Mumbai in collaboration with Berlin Partner GMBH in November 2008.

The letter of intent to co-produce the movie, which has been tentatively titled Waltz on the Raga was formally endorsed by Mehra and Vise and Dr. Veit Heiduschka, their counterpart in Wega, at Vienna some days back.

Guild president Manmohan Shetty voiced his delight at the fructification of an international co-production agreement involving a Guild member thus underlying the fulfillment of the premier objective in organizing such events. Shetty said, "This agreement will undoubtedly herald a new chapter in co-production ventures between Guild members and prospective international producers."

Guild secretary general Supran Sen expressed his pleasure at this tie-up and hoped that more such deals can be cracked in the future due to enterprising initiatives undertaken by Guild on the lines of the November event.
