EFX Prasad gets SICA Award for special effects

MUMBAI: Southern India Cinematographer’s Association conducted its fifth G.V. SICA Awards on 1 May, 2008 at YMCA grounds, Nandanam, Chennai.

SICA Awards for excellence in Special Effects in the field of cinema was awarded to EFX – Prasad Corporation Limited ‘Best Special Effects for the year 2007 – For Many Films’.

The evening was a star studded event with awards instituted for recognizing and rewarding the commendable work done by artists, musicians and technicians in the Silver Screen.

EFX being a premier player in the industry is greatly privileged to be the first company to be recognized by SICA for excellence in visual effects. The elite panel of SICA selection committee includes the renowned film director K. Balachander as its chief advisor.

EFX executive producer, computer graphics Kilari Hima Kumar added, "This award reaffirms our commitment to the quality of our work. We are delighted to have contributed to the Indian Visual effects Industry in the way we have. This award is definitely an icing on the cake for our crews year long efforts and contribution."

EFX executive producer, digital intermediate Madhu Sudhan. K acknowledged the efforts of the ‘men behind the camera’. EFX is highly honored to be recognized by the Cinematographers.

"DI is a technology that expands the horizons of color. We can manipulate and grade colors according to the imagery or footage, which is not possible in conventional grading. With computer graphics and optical works on the rise in feature films, DI is a strong control point to get vibrant and consistent output that the Cinematographers need," Sudhan added.
