Mumbai: The new game from game designer Will Wright and EA’s Maxis studio – Spore has been launched in India. People in India can now look forward to unleashing their creativity as they make their own species and planets and search for extra-terrestrial life. The new game Spore will be available at retail for the PC at Rs 999. It will also be available as a mobile download (distributed by indiagames) on leading GSM carriers for Rs 99.

Spore gives players their own personal universe in a box. As part of the launch event, game lovers were treated to a demo of Spore in Delhi at The Intercontinental Hotel, New Delhi, attended by a host of Spore fans.  The Launch event featured Kunal Kapoor, a Bollywood actor and Nikhil Chinapa, Indian VJ who happens to be an avid technology lover.

"Spore is exactly what the Indian gaming scene needed," said EA India general manager Ajay Khanna at the launch event.  "Spore will introduce a new concept into gaming in India. The blend of fun, science, evolution and an online community through a great story and easy game play is groundbreaking. All these elements come together to deliver on Will Wright’s big idea – to create and control your own personal universe.  Spore is a game that has the potential to become a platform for creativity, and innovation for years to come."

"Spanning hundreds of millions of years, Spore’s scope is unprecedented in gaming. It has been a long time in the making and the team at Maxis is really excited to finally share the game with the world," said Maxis chief designer Will Wright.  "We can’t wait to see the amazing worlds that our fans build, as they tell their own stories with the game."
