MUMBAI: Actor Emraan Hashmi is gearing up for his maiden international stage performance.
At the forthcoming IIFA Awards in Yorkshire, Emraan will dance to the remix of To Phir Aao and Tera Mera Rishta, both Mustafa Zahid’s tunes from his forthcoming film Awarapan. Studio 18 is releasing Awarapan in two key cinemas in Leeds Bradford, not far from the IIFA venue in the UK.
Currently in Mumbai, rehearsing for his Awarapan stage act, Emraan is both excited and anxious. “Awarapan is my first solo theatrical release overseas. At the IIFA, I am looking forward to interacting with my international audience who loved me in Zeher and Gangster. June will be an action-packed month for me,” he says.
Emraan’s next two films release in June 2007. The Train, premiering at the IIFA Awards, might not have a principal theatrical release in the UK, but his next, the Mahesh Bhatt-presented Awarapan, releasing worldwide on 29 June 2007, will be his maiden solo theatrical outing internationally.
