MUMBAI: Eros International has acquired the global distribution rights for Namastey London, which is directed and produced by Vipul Shah and co-produced by Adlabs.
Eros International has acquired all rights to the film on a global basis. According to industry sources, Eros acquired the worldwide rights of the film for Rs 370 million (Rs 37 crores) from Adlabs.
Namastey London stars Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif. The film is an emotional drama told in a light vein.
Eros’ first co-production Waqt – A Race Against Time – UK’s top Bollywood grosser for 2005 – was also a Vipul Shah directorial venture. The company will release the music soundtrack for Namastey London, which includes 18 tracks. The music of the film is by Himesh Reshammiya.
The film will be released globally by Eros on 9 March, 2007.
The company has three releases in the first quarter of the year namely – Nikhil Advani’s Salaam-E-Ishq (which was released on 25 January), Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Eklavya – The Royal Guard and Shah’s Namastey London.
