Eros Digital ups Rajesh Bahl as chief operating officer

MUMBAI: Eros International Media has promoted Rajesh Bahl as chief operating officer of Eros Digital with effect from 1 June, 2011.

In his new role, Bahl will oversee the development plans of the rapidly growing digital and new media arm of Eros International plc. Bahl previously led the digital efforts as chief digital officer of Eros India since his appointment in March 2010. Bahl will report into Eros Digital CEO Ricky Ghai.

Bahl said, “Eros has made huge strides in the digital arena and in my new role, I look forward to launching several exciting new digital services for both the Indian market and the global diaspora. This is an exciting time for Eros to become an even more significant player in the growing Indian consumer internet market.”

Eros International chairman Kishore Lulla added, “As an expanding company, we are constantly recruiting and restructuring roles and responsibilities to manage that growth. Rajesh’s appointment as COO, Eros Digital is a strategic move to reiterate the company’s focus on the digital sphere in the global landscape and further consolidate our position in this space.”
