Film writer Sachin Bhowmick passes away

MUMBAI: Film writer Sachin Bhowmick is no more.

Bhowmick, who started his writing career with Lajwanti in 1958, had written stories and screenplays for over seventy films in his lifetime.

Some of the films that he had written are Brahmachari, Aradhana, Pehchan and Aan Milo Sajnaa. Most recently, he wrote films like Koi… Mil Gaya, Kisna and Krrish.

He worked mostly with filmmakers like J Om Prakash, Nasir Hussain, Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Pramod Chakravorty, Subhash Ghai and Rakesh Roshan.

Bhowmick also directed a film called Raja Rani in 1973, which starred Rajesh Khanna and Sharmila Tagore.

He was cremated at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park crematorium by his family.
