First batch graduates from Film & TV Academy

MUMBAI: On 24 August, the first batch of students graduated from the LV Prasad Film and TV Academy.

AVM Productions’ AVM Saravanan was the chief guest and gave out the diploma certificates to the students. Prasad Group managing director Ramesh Prasad recollected memories of his father L V Prasad and his dream to start an academy. Film maker Balu Mahendra was the chairman of the jury that selected the best films by the graduating students under different categories.

The awards went to Abhilasha (best direction), Ramesh Kumar (cinematography), Sony Sasankan Nanoo (sound) and Abhishek K.S (editing).

Saravanan recollected the memories of Dada Saheb Phalke awardee L V Prasad and his long association with the Prasad Group from the days of AVM’s Miss Mary directed by him.

The L V Prasad Film and TV Academy was started on 15 August, 2005 with the objective of creating a band of professional filmmakers and television producers with a global perspective and an abiding commitment to quality.

The four streams in direction, cinematography, editing and sound design have been designed to integrate the strength of the allied arts with the aesthetics of cinema, TV and the emerging digital technologies.

L V Prasad Film and TV Academy is a member of Prasad Group, which has facilities and offices across India, Singapore, Dubai and Hollywood. Prasad EFX has worked on many international projects and has recently entered into agreements with Hollywood studios for VFX projects in mainstream Hollywood films.
