MUMBAI: Choreographer Ganesh Acharya who has delivered five super hits this year in Lage Raho Munnabhai, Rang De Basanti, Golmaal, Omkara and Hera Pheri has finally turned writer, producer and director with Swamy starring Manoj Bajpai and Juhi Chawla. The film will go on floors from 19 October at Filmalaya Studios.
Acharya was unavailable for comment. However, his secretary Sanjeev Pahwa said, “Ganesh Acharya who has written the story will also direct and produce Swamy under the banner of Pushpa Krishna Creations. The film will introduce a new pair Maninder Singh and Neha Pendse along with Manoj Bajpai and Juhi Chawla.”
“The film with a social message and is not based on dances. There will no songs but there will only be a title track composed by newcomers, Nitin and Soni in the movie. Swamy is budgeted around Rs 20 million (Rs 2 crore) and will be completed in one schedule in November. We are planning to release the film in January-February next year,” he adds.
