Goldmines bags rights of Bharathi Raja film

MUMBAI: Goldmines Telefilms has acquired the commercial, non-commercial and electronic rights of Therkathi Kali Koodam Productions’ Cinema.

The film is directed by Bharthi Raja and stars Nana Patekar and Vatsal Seth in the lead roles. Sources say all rights except for India theatrical rigts, the company has acquired all other rights of Cinema. Except for the 35 mm, 70 mm, 16 mm print formats, the company has taken the entire electronic rights including subtitling, dubbing, publishing, performance, all formats of video (VHS, VCDs, DVDs, High Definition Disc Tape), Video On Demand (VOD), Movie On Demand (MOD), Video cyberspace, web, internet, TV rights, satellite rights, DTH, Cable TV, Air Borne, Surface transport, Cell Phones, Ringtones, Multimedia and merchandising rights, add sources.

Cinema, according to sources, is ‘a film within a film’. It has been produced by Bharathi Raja, in association with US based non resident Indians. Nana Patekar plays a film director in the film.

Bharathi Raja has made films like Muthal Mariyathai, Alaigal Oyvadhillai, Mann Vaasanai, Vedham Pudhithu, Kizhakku Cheemaiyile and Anthimanthaarai. Raja has also directed Hindi films like Solva Sawan in 1979, Red Rose in 1980 and the Kumar Gaurav starrer Lovers in 1983.
