Guild, ASSOCHAM collaborate for India Pavilion at Cannes

MUMBAI: The Information & Broadcasting Ministry has entrusted the Film and Television Producers Guild of India to collaborate with ASSOCHAM in the setting up of India Pavilion, for facilitating Indian delegates at the Cannes Film Festival, 2009.

The Guild will be participating in the Pavilion as an advisory partner of ASSOCHAM. The Guild will utilize the knowledge reservoir, professional expertise and experience of its functionaries, gained through participation in Cannes to assist ASSOCHAM. It will also seek to work on the brain waves of its intelligentsia with the financial and creative acumen of ASSOCHAM in the conceptualization of the India Pavilion.

The Guild is planning to offer its services in providing facilities to delegates at the Pavilion such as creation of an information nerve centre/help desk entailing comprehensive data enabled services to delegates, assistance in arranging meetings with festival delegates, self sustainable mechanism for procurement of badges, visa assistance etc.

Also in the pipeline are plans for display of literature (brochures, booklets) of members who will be unable to attend Cannes, directory of Indian delegates containing contact details, address, information about new films/projects, extending invitations to MIPTV buyers for visiting the Pavilion and much more. This joint effort is likely to streamline the infrastructural set up by aiding through dissemination of information to Indian delegates, help desk assistance for facilitation of export promotion and portraying an impressive imagery of Brand India at Cannes.

Over the years, the Guild has been participating in many international entertainment markets like AFM (American Film Market), MIPTV, MIPCOM etc.
