MUMBAI: Harryy W Fernaandes, who had last directed Hindi horror film Anjaane – The Unknown starring Manisha Koirala, has now turned to Bhojpuri films.
Anjaane was released in April last year but flopped miserably. Says Fernaandes, “I do not see any harm in doing Bhojpuri films. I am writing and directing two Bhojpuri films for Sudip Pandey. One is titled Bhojpuriya Bhaiya and the other is Lage Raho Bhojpuriya Bhaiya. The shooting and editing of the former is complete; the latter has just been announced and is in the scripting stages. Both films feature Vinay Anand in the lead.”
Bhojpuri Bhaiya is a typical saas bahu saga, and stars Sudip, Vinay Anand and Jyotika Anand. The second film, however, has nothing to do with its namesake Lago Raho Munnabhai, insists Fernaandes.
Fernaandes had started his career with Lawrence D’souza in Maahir, S Ramanathan’s Pratikshah and Sudhakar Bokade’s Nyay Anyay. He was also associated along with writer director Sanjay Chhel with TV programmes like Dekh Tamasha Dekh, which was telecast on Sony.
