Hulla no show at multiplexes; premieres online on BIGFlix

MUMBAI: Last week it was the Randeep Hooda-starrer Ru-Ba-Ru that was pulled off some theatre screens courtesy lack of audiences… This week it’s Hulla that met with a similar fate across a few properties in Mumbai.

The film’s evening show has been cancelled at theatres like Fun Cinemas and Movietime due to lack of audiences. Theatres like Fame, Cinemax, PVR and Inox are only playing one or two shows of the movie across their properties. Directed by Jaideep Verma, Hulla stars Rajat Kapoor, Sushant Singh and Darshan Jariwala amongst others and has been co-produced by Big Pictures and Handmade Films.

While Hulla has proved to be a non-starter at the box office, Reliance BIG Entertainment’s movie download and rental website BigFlix.com has had a day and date release of the comedy flick online. People outside India can download to own Hulla from BigFlix.com for $ 4.49 and download to rent it at $ 1.99.

Amongst the other films released today, Shyam Benegal’s Welcome To Sajjanpur has garnered far more shows than Saas Bahu Aur Sensex and Hulla.

Meanwhile at theatres, previous week’s releases like Rock On, A Wednesday, Singh Is Kinng, The Last Lear and 1920 continue to enjoy their run. Amongst the English movies running at theatres are You Don’t Mess With The Zohan, Righteous Kill, Wall.E, Mamma Mia, Journey To The Center Of The Earth, Deception and What Happens In Vegas.
